Here at Popiah, we operate on principles of conscious capitalism, social awareness and contributing positive changes to better our world in any way possible.
A shocking 20-40% of food produced gets wasted a year in the UK. At Popiah, we are determined to tackle food waste by sourcing all of our fresh produce from local businesses. This includes purchase of ‘wonky’ unwanted vegetables that would otherwise get thrown into the bin! Additionally, we aim to source 100% recyclable or degradable packaging to help minimise carbon impact.
GOOD FOOD FOR GOOD PEOPLE
Our popiahs will provide your taste buds with a true Malaysian experience without the cost of your health! Perfect for anyone as our popiahs can be suitable for anyone with specific dietary requirements - whether you are coeliac, vegan, vegetarian or an omnivore, Popiah will cater to you! Quality homemade deliciousness, good popiahs for good people.
CREATING SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACT
Popiah will continuously look to work with charities in and outside of the UK. Our in-the-works interactive food kit (Balut-lah) by Popiah will be packaged in a hand-woven palm leaf, also known as Anyaman. The use of Anyaman is significant for Popiah because of its durability, versatility, sustainability, and how it largely represents Malaysian heritage. As a business, Popiah is PROUD to be empowering women as a majority of our artisans are female and we find it our social responsibility to create social and economic impact in developing countries.
